The Cradle of Humankind – Magaliesberg Tourist Map…… Since our first edition in 2008, Tourism Maps are proud to announce the 11 th edition of the map for 2013, showcasing detailed and incorporating accurate information of this majestic leading tourist destination in Gauteng, South Africa. Visitors are invited to come and experience the natural essence of our heritage, that this tourist destination has to offer. Beginning at the doorway to the world renowned Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site surrounded by the hidden treasures and characteristic charm of Muldersdrift, to the top and foothills of the all-embracing majestic Magaliesberg Mountain range, overlooking the fun and festive Hartbeespoort Dam and scenic and fanciful Magaliesburg across to the riches of Rustenburg en route to Sun City. Our maps are the only maps of their kind published and produced annually with the endorsement of the local municipalities, local Government, local tourism organizations, conservancies and local business. The buy-in and synergy between all tourism stakeholders that are featured on each map that we produce ensures that the maps become a powerful and complete marketing tool for each destination featured. Our associate partner - Magaliesburg Information and Reservations, established in 1995 has contributed to the ongoing success in database updates, collection of up to date information and promotion of the Tourism Maps products. In 2008, the map was the first public private partnership initiative of its kind, launched by The Cradle of Humankind Management Authority at Indaba by the now, MEC for Economic Development Qedani Mahlangu.Up until the 2012 edition, the main brand alignment advertising partners have been the The Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site Management Authority and WRDM, endorsed by The Gauteng Tourism Authority and major tourist businesses in the region advertising on the map.

“GIVING BACK” – ADOPT A WEST RAND TOWNSHIP TOURISM ESTABLISHMENT Currently The Cradle of Humankind – Magaliesberg Tourist map is the only flagship marketing tool of its kind that is published and produced for the destination. To date, the buy-in and synergy between all tourism stakeholders that have featured on the map, ensured that they have become a sought after powerful and complete marketing tool for the destination. After visiting these businesses we were incredibly humbled by the need for basic business structures and assistance that these individual required. We decided we need to start somewhere. Tourism Maps would like to “give back” and assist new and emerging businesses in the townships with a “business adoption scheme”. For a minimal fee your company will sponsor a Township Tourism listing on the West Rand Township Tourist Map for 2013. Each tourism entity will receive the following: 1. A standard listing on the map – Name, Tel, GPS Co Ords and 2 x Tourism Symbol 2. A complete web page on www.westrandtourism.co.za which will include all contact details, 3 high res images and a 200 word description of the tourism entity.www.westrandtourism.co.za 3. Your company logo will appear on the individual recipients web page. The main aim of Tourism Maps is that we are deeply committed to building the destination as one of the most sought after tourism destinations in South Africa. The corporate social investment (CSI) would be a vital response to the socio-economic imperatives of the region.
