C.I.Agent ® Polyvinyl Blanket A Spill Containment and Hydrocarbon Filtration Solution

C.I.Agent ® Polyvinyl Blanket What is a C.I.Agent Polyvinyl Blanket? The Polyvinyl Blanket is a cost effective solution for Secondary Spill Containment and comes in five standard sizes or can be custom-made. The Polyvinyl Blanket allows storm water to flow through the C.I.Agent ® side wall booms. Upon any release the booms become impervious and contain the hydrocarbons. The Polyvinyl Blanket is pre-fabricated at the factory and assembled on site – usually in one day.

C.I.Agent ® Polyvinyl Blanket How the C.I.Agent ® Polyvinyl Blanket Works When a release occurs the side wall booms allow water to flow through them while they capture and solidify the hydrocarbons - forming an impervious barrier.

C.I.Agent ® Polyvinyl Blanket C.I.Agent ® Polyvinyl Blanket Features: Base of blanket is made of 22 oz. polyvinyl (heavier polyvinyl is available) C.I.Agent ® side wall booms are constructed of non-woven geo-textile material filled with C.I.Agent ® Granules; a proprietary blend of USDA food-grade polymers that encapsulate hydrocarbons. Hydrocarbons will not drip or leach out. Polyvinyl Blanket has fitted corners.

C.I.Agent ® Polyvinyl Blanket C.I.Agent ® Polyvinyl Blanket Benefits: Polyvinyl Blankets are a bury and forget application. The Polyvinyl Blanket meets requirements of SPCC 40CFR112.7 and U.S.D.A. Bulletin 1724E-302, Chapter 3-3.2.2 and 3.2.3. The Polyvinyl Blanket comes in five standard sizes or can be custom built to your specifications. The Polyvinyl Blanket is pre-fabricated at the factory in Louisville, KY and must pass rigid quality control standards.

C.I.Agent ® Polyvinyl Blanket Typical Process for Installation of C.I.Agent ® Polyvinyl Blanket: 1. Preparation of the Site 2. Layout of the Polyvinyl Blanket 3. Sealing Seams 4. Fitting Polyvinyl Around Structures 5. Staking Side Wall Booms 6. Adding Interior Stone 7. Adding Exterior Stone

C.I.Agent ® Polyvinyl Blanket Preparation of Site Once the site is excavated and the dirt removed, it is recommended that three (3) inches of pea gravel be placed underneath the liner to promote drainage. Site needs to be excavated to accommodate enough smooth stone to bring to grade level of slab.

C.I.Agent ® Polyvinyl Blanket Layout of Polyvinyl Blanket Layout Polyvinyl Blanket panels according to the site plan. Trim the vinyl at the seams to accommodate a two-inch overlap.

C.I.Agent ® Polyvinyl Blanket Sealing Seams Join and seal all of the seams before fitting vinyl around the concrete pads. Clean both surfaces of the seams with vinyl cleaner using lint-free rags or industrial wipes. Place a wooden plank under the seams to be joined to provide a hard surface for rolling and adhering the seams.

C.I.Agent ® Polyvinyl Blanket Fitting Polyvinyl Blanket Around Existing Structures Fit vinyl around existing structures such as conduits, ground cables and concrete pads/piers. For conduit and ground cables, pull back the vinyl and pour granular Bentonite ® around them. Replace vinyl and cover with granular Bentonite ® to seal the area.

C.I.Agent ® Polyvinyl Blanket Staking Side Wall Booms Using wooden stakes, place stakes at intervals that support the side wall booms and vinyl sides in an upright position. Attach the walls to the stakes with staples placed at the top of the walls.

C.I.Agent ® Polyvinyl Blanket Adding Interior Stone Cover the vinyl with fire-quenching stone starting from the center and progressing to the outer edges. This can be done with a front end loader dropping the stone inches from the surface of the vinyl. Do not puncture the vinyl or crush the side wall booms.

C.I.Agent ® Polyvinyl Blanket Adding Exterior Stone Place stone around the exterior wall being careful not to drop directly on the side wall booms. Once both sides are stacked, the side wall booms can be covered with stone to create a berm around the entire containment perimeter.
