1 Welcome Welcome to church... If you are a visitor we hope you will stay after the service for a tea or coffee and a chat. Please join us in the hall right next to the church. If you can, please fill in a welcome card which you will find in a pew near you

3 Service Today The theme today is The Commonwealth Games

4 Bible Reading If you would like to have a look at today’s bible readings before the service starts, here are the references: Bible Readings: Psalm 133 1 Thessalonians 1: 2-3

5 Tea/Coffee There will be Tea Coffee after the service in the old hall. All are welcome to come along.

6 Evening Service There will be NO evening service tonight at Temple Anniesland. These services will resume in September.

7 Thursday (Midweek) Worship There will be NO mid-week service or tea & coffee time this Thursday as these have now finished for this session. Services will resume on Thursday 4 th September.

8 Prayer Points Ourheavenly Father, we remember especially before You the UK’s Diplomatic Service and the Foreign and Commonwealth Offices involvement, to resolve existing disputes concerning the Gaza conflict, the Ukrainian Parliament and Pro- Russian Rebels. We ask Your forgiveness and for Your mercy and grace. In Jesus name, amen.

9 The Traidcraft stall is usually the first Sunday of every month in the Old Hall after the morning service. Lots of different items to buy – chocolate, muesli, sweets, greeting cards & more……. Traidcraft Stall Today

10 Strawberry Fayre - 9 August Strawberry Fayre on Saturday 9 August between 10am and 1pm with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Care Tea/coffee and cakes Stalls with jewellery, handbags, Caurnie Soap products, baking/ tablet, handbags/cushions. Tickets from Diana Johnston Adults £3 and Children £1.

11 Place for Hope A new 6-month programme from ‘A Place of Hope’ Launch day Sunday 14th September and there will be different themes in worship between September and Pentecost 2015 thinking about change, listening, forgiveness and reconciliation. If anyone would be interested in or would like to find out more about small group work, please get in touch with Fiona. It would involve around 5-6 meetings, where we explore different topics and how we can seek to address difference in positive ways.

12 Church meetings The next meeting for those of you involved in “Messy Church” will be on Tuesday 5 th August at 7.30pm. “Messy Church” is an all age event, involving craft, interactive worship and food. We are hoping to have our first one in September so look out for more details There will be a meeting of the Christian Education Group on Tuesday 26 th August at 2pm.

13 Church Building Work Work on the toilets has started and will be carried out over the summer. The only toilet open in the church building will be at the front of the sanctuary. Church car park will be out of use, as skips and vehicles using it. We apologise for the disruption this will cause, but we will have new toilets, a disability toilet and baby changing facilities.

14 The Guild The Guild will be meeting for Tea and Chat At 1.45pm to 2.45pm on Tuesday 5 th August Come along for a catch up, all welcome! Please note the earlier start time!

15 Gentlemen's Dining Club Next evening is: Monday 1 st September Details to follow

16 Ladies' night out The ladies of the church are invited to a night out with Clare! Meal at I-chai at 7.30pm on Wednesday 2 nd July.

17 Church family day out A church family day out to Kelburn Country Park is planned for Saturday 30 th August. Please keep this date free in your diary. More information to follow.

18 Crosstalk Contributions for the next edition to our editor, Michael by E-Mail michaelgraemeshanks@gmail.com or by hand to himself or one of our Communications Team. Previous issues of Crosstalk are still available to be viewed or downloaded from the Publications link on our web site.

19 Becoming a Church member Would anyone interested in enquiring about what is involved in church membership please see the Minister or Jim Stewart, our session clerk. You can also contact them via our web site

20 Library The church library is located in the old hall, and has a varied selection of books on different Christian topics. These are available for borrowing for free! Happy reading!

21 Blythswood Shoeboxes The Blythswood Care Group are desperate for shoeboxes with lids that lift off, as these are easier to cover. If you have any shoeboxes, please bring them along and hand them to Margaret Strathdee or Marion Stewart.

22 Bible Notes Alison Gray has the new edition of “Our Daily Bread” bible notes for anyone who ordered a copy. Please collect them after the morning service. There will be a few spare copies if anyone wishes a copy!

23 Silver Threads T he Silver Threads, our friendly group of needle crafts people, meets on a monthly basis. First Friday of each month Between 2 and 4 pm Please contact Christine Macleod for more details or visit our church web site. Starts again in September.

24 Church Choir The choir is always looking for new members If you are interested for the next session please speak with Stewart Henderson.

25 World Mission Stamp Appeal The World Mission Stamp appeal is still on going, so please continue to save all used stamps, leaving a ¼ inch surround if possible. These will be used by World Mission to raise money for their current projects.

26 Sunday Club If you have children in your family who would like to learn about the Christian faith week by week in a lively and interactive way, please encourage them to come along. We have groups for young people from 3 years to 16 years old.

27 Youth Organisations Rainbows Mondays 6.15 – 7.15 pm Brownies Tuesdays 6.30 – 8.00 pm and Thursday 7.00 – 8.30 pm. Girl Guides Tuesdays 7.30 – 9.00 pm. Anchor Boys Wednesdays 6.30 – 7.30pm. Junior and Company Sections Wednesdays 6.30 - 8.00 pm.

28 Lost Property Box The Lost property" box is located in the vestibule of the Church, on the right hand side as you enter. If you have lost gloves, umbrella etc. please look and you may find your belongings. The contents of the Box will go to a Charity Shop if the items are not claimed after a few weeks.

30 Community Notices Look out for the posters on our Community Notice Board in the Old Hall for all the activities taking place in our Halls and elsewhere.
