5.  Tuition Fees: Exempt (Except fee paying program) at Host University  Cost of living and other expenses: Participants are responsible  KAIST overseas scholarship: 1.5 – 2.5 million (won)/person * Total amount of scholarships will be different depending on overseas universities’ location. * The availability and amount of the scholarship is subject to change due to the scarcity of funding resources.

10. Step 3. Click Global Program on top and choose Outgoing Students click either Student Exchange Program OR GE3. you cannot undone your selection once you click save

11. Step 4. Filling out the application (1) Choose your current study semester. If you are taking a semester off, choose the previous study semester Your test result must NOT be expired. If the institution that you would like to apply asks for specific test result, you MUST have the test score. If you don’t, you are not eligible to apply for that specific institution. Choose the field of study based on your 1 st choice. (e.g. Dept. of Chemistry)

English proficiency test result *You must submit the original hardcopies for #2 and #3 IRT after uploading them -Fill it out based on your 1 st choice -Need to choose at least 2 major courses -When you transfer the credits, you must have at least total 9 credits -Check out the website of the host institution (your first choice) and compare if we have corresponding courses at KAIST (when you are accepted for the program, you will need to confirm with your advisor for your course selection whether the courses correspond or not -Write it based on your first choice -Maximum 250 words for each section Fill it out based on your 1 st choice of If the course doesn’t match with what we have at KAIST, leave it blank

13. Step 5. Printing out the application form and Submitting it to IRT ***Make sure to get all the necessary signatures. Failure to do so will result in undesirable consequences. -After you submit the application, you WILL NOT be able to SUBMIT -SUBMIT it. Print out the form, receive the necessary signatures and bring it to the IRT with your transcript (original), English proficiency test result(original) before the deadline. *If you do not submit the hardcopy of the online application, we will assume that you don’t have the intention of applying for the program and therefore will be excluded from the nomination process Official seal is fine You MUST get the signature of your advisor. If he or she is on a business trip, make sure to get an approval by email and submit the copy of the email to IRT

14.  Transcript (including 2014 spring)  Online application  English Proficiency Test Result (IELTS, TOEFL, TEPS, TOEIC) * The English Proficiency Test Result should be submitted even if the relevant university doesn’t require.

15.  Students should sign up for a speaking test directly. 17.  The final decision of acceptance will be made by Host Universities.  If a selected student withdraws from the program without reasonable cause, his or her application can be denied at the next selection.  All exchange students are required to take at least 2 major courses, including double major or minor, and transfer at least 9 credits to KAIST once they return.  *Number of hours must be marked on syllabus (16 hours per week will be counted as one credit)

20.  Undergraduate students majoring in engineering or computer science  Minimum Acquired Credits: 66credits * 3 rd year, and first semester of the 4 th year students are preferred.  Grade Point Average above 3.0  English Speaking Countries: iBT 80 * Please check the English requirements of each university you are applying for(attachment 3). If you are applying for one of these universities which require higher scores than iBT TOEFL 80, you must meet the requirements as specified. * Students applying for a non-English speaking country must also have valid language proficiency scores of one of the followings: TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, TEPS  Students who don’t have any disciplinary records

Students should choose up to five universities and will be placed accordingly based on the IIE’s decision.

23.  Tuition Fees: Exempt at Host University  Cost of living and other expenses: Participants are responsible  KAIST overseas scholarship: Same as KAIST exchange program  Important: KAIST chooses internal nominees, however IIE (Institute of International Education) makes the final decision. Thus, should you only choose competitive English speaking universities, please bear in mind that you may not necessarily be placed in the university you wished to enter.
