6. What would you do, might do or never do? Colour code:  Things you would do  Things you might do  Things you would never do Would you do it? Why/why not? What might be the consequences? On the first work sheet in small groups you should read the thought bubbles and colour code the thought bubbles with what you would do, might do or never do when online. Allow 8/10 minutes for this task, then discuss ideas/answers throughout the group.

7. Create your own footprint… In your small groups take a footprint. Write an acrostic linking the letters of ‘be safe online’ to internet safety. Make these as colourful and creative as possible for a display in reception. Write your names and tutor group on them to be entered into the competition. The 2 winning groups will receive a prize.

When online… We might become curious which could lead to seeking or befriending ‘adults’ who encourage you to adopt ideas or beliefs about particular issues/actions which might be somewhat extreme. We may be exposed to new influences and potentially risky behaviours, influence from peers, influence from older people or the internet as we begin to explore ideas and issues around our identity.

The numbers of girls and young women who have or are intending to travel to the part of Syria that is controlled by the terrorist group calling themselves Islamic State has increased dramatically.

17. White Supremacy Radicalisation… White supremacy is a form of racism centered upon the belief, and promotion of the belief, that white people are superior in certain characteristics, traits, and attributes to people of other racial backgrounds

18. Radicalisation… White supremacist groups are particularly active online. An individual may become increasingly secretive about the webpages they are visiting and what they are downloading whilst feeding their curiosity. Dylann Roof – an active online white supremacist.

20. What does this mean for you? Social media sites, like Facebook and Twitter, can be used by extremists looking to identify, target and contact young people. Often you might be asked to continue discussions, not via the mainstream social media, but via platforms, such as Kik Messenger.
