2 2 Standard I - Training for a competent professional practice with adults and elderly, their families, relatives and groups in the community. -What competencies provide differentia specifica to social workers contrary to other supporting professions? -What are the basic knowledge and skills necessary for a competent social work practice with adults and elderly?

3 3 Standard I (contd.) - How to differentiate between basic, advanced and specialist levels of social work with adults and eldery? - How to make balance between different theoretical and method approaches? - How to enable life-long learning education of social workers in the field of work with adults and elderly?

4 4 Standard II - Training for the recognition of rights of adults and elderly and their families, acknowledging differences between people and implementation of anti-discriminative and empowering practices in advocating different groups of adults and elderly. - What are the basic rights of adults and elderly to be advocated by social workers?

5 5 Standard II (cont.) -What sorts of differences between the people are to be acknowledged by social workers? -How to provide a training on a consistant and conscious implementation of anti-discriminatory practices? -How to empower social workers to act as agents of changes in their communities while advocating adults and elderly?

6 Standard III - Training in independent and team organization and implementation of a holistic assesment of needs, strengths and risks within systemic orientation of a person in his/her environment and supporting different groups of vulnerable adults and ederly in recognizing and meeting their needs, empowering adults and elderly to learn skills for independent life and promoting a constructive change contributing to their social inclusion.

7 Standard III (contd.) -What does a holistic assessment of needs mean? -Which knowledge and skills are necessary for social workers in order to do that? -How to implement general and specific concerns in everyday work? -How to enable social workers to initiate and develop social support networks? -How to provide to take into account the perspectives of adults and elderly?

8 Standard IV - Training for work with adults and elderly facing life transitions and loss. - Which specific knowledge and skills are necessary for work in life transitions and loss? - How to support adults and elderly, i.e. empower them to overcome loss and crises? - How to work in the environment of adults and elderly facing trauma, loss and crises?

9 Standard V -Training for work in palliative care and end-of-life care. -What are the roles of social workers in palliative and end-of-life care? -What knowledge and skills are necessary for the work with a dying adults/elderly and their families? -What is needed to be done in the community?
