8. Mr. Chandrashekhar Rentala President, NASSCOM Shri R Chandrasekhar is the current president of NASSCOM and former Secretary to the Indian Department of Information Technology. He is also a member of the government's technology advisory group, TAGUP. Chandrasekhar is an Indian Administrative Services officer. He has had a distinguished career in the Department of Information Technology, where he initiated the National e-Governance Programme. Chandrasekhar first initiated the three pillars of "e-Governance", namely: Common Service Centre Programme; the State Data Centre Programme; and the State Wide Area Network Programme of India. He is the former Telecom Secretary of India. 9. Dr. Nishikant V. Deshpande Director, National Institute of Technology, Silchar Dr.Nishikant Vinayak Deshpande, since Sept. 8, 2011, is the Director, National Institute of Technology Silchar, an institute of National importance, for 5 years tenure. During his 27 years of teaching, research and administrative experience, he has taught most of the subjects in mechanical engineering. He has guided number of M.Tech. projects and 7 Doctoral students. Currently, 4 research scholars are pursuing Ph.D. under him Prof Bhaskar Ramamurthy Director, IIT Chennai Bhaskar Ramamurthi obtained his B.Tech in Electronics Engineering from IIT Madras in 1980 and his M.S. and Ph.D degrees from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He conducts research on topics in modulation and coding for mobile communications, wireless communication networks and design and implementation of wireless local loop systems. He is one of the founding members of the Telecommunications and Computer Networking Group (TeNeT) group at IIT Madras. He is the principal architect of corDECT Wireless local loop System and Broadband corDECT Wireless DSL System, widely deployed in India and 15 countries. He is a fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering since 2000. He was recently elected fellow of IEEE.
