3. WHO ARE WE? Waipipi school is a family orientated, progressive school that takes pride In itself. Waipipi school is a small country school just outside Waiuku, Auckland. We teach year 1 to year 8. School starts at 8.30 and finishes at 2.25pm. Waipipi school is a great example of kiwiana.

5. OUR HISTORY Waipipi school started in 1874 and since then it has changed heaps. Did you know that our car park used to be a paddock for horses that you rode to school on! Room 4 used to be one big classroom. Inside the wall in room 4 that got knocked down there was a bottle of wine but when they found it the wine had all evaporated. When they first opened they had one room which was called a school house, it measured 8m by 4.5m.By April 1874 the roll was only 49 pupils. All the pupils were taught reading, writing and arithmetic other students were also taught grammar, geography and history. Many principals have been here,did you know more than 40 principals have been here! Many young boys from Waipipi were sent to the army to help with world war two and some never to return. Waipipi school has seen many changes and is still changing.

6. WHERE IS WAIPIPI? Waipipi school is near the little town called Waiuku. It is 40 kilometres southwest of the Auckland city centre, and 12 kilometres north of the opening of the Waikato River. Waipipi school is on 100 Creamery Road.

7. OUR BUILDINGS, MUD BANKS AND PLAYGROUNDS. Waipipi school has 8 classrooms, a library, an office and a hall which we call the smile room. We also have two playgrounds (senior and junior) and mud banks which are a popular choice for us kids!
