Why did the British want an Empire? In pairs think about why Britain seemed obsessed with becoming an imperial power. Think back to other empires you have learned about. Write down as many reasons as you can to explain why Britain wanted a large Empire.

How Big is Big?? Now have a look at your card we are going to show how tiny Britain took over a 1/5 of the globe!
