3 Tool Purpose / Value Story No national distribution of outreach events No method to measure outreach impact and member participation in engineering outreach No way to reward members who engage in outreach activities SWE lacks the ability to track outreach

4 SWEeter Futures idea came from Region B grassroots effort Kerrie Greenfielder invented the general concept using survey monkey and Excel for Region B Outreach spent FY11 researching different software platforms that could meet requirements AngelPoints software was selected as vendor Motorola grant covered the $20k cost to customize and implement in FY12

5 SWEeter Futures provides SWE members with extensive capabilities Publication of Events Events created by users and publicized in the community Metrics for Society Provides statistical data for SWE use Engagement of Users Users set up preferences for events they are interested in Event managers can use the system to look for qualified volunteers to fill openings Survey participants on event participation Recognition of Users Recognize work at both individual and section/region level

6 Work out the operational bugs Develop a standard SWE process Finalize general deployment process Region B Implementation starts with a pilot group

Outreach award aligned to hours/activities identified in the tool
