I am from Charleston, TN which located in west TN, I now live in Atoka, TN which is also in Tipton County. There is approximately 8,844 people who live in Atoka. Atoka has the second largest population in Tipton County, second only to Covington, the county seat.

I go to Brighton High School which is located in Brighton, TN. Brighton High School is the largest school in Tipton County. With about 1,500 students Brighton High School holds the Bronze school of the state for Tennessee. In this school I attend the club FFA. GPA-3.2 ACT-21.

Jobs that I have previously held/still do would be crop/animal farmer with my family, I work here full time and receive a pay check each week. Here we also work on Tractors ( ) and vehicles which has given me the knowledge of tools and engine parts. Out on the farm I usually plant, cultivate, and run the grain buggy for the combines. I have also mowed lawns in the past for the elderly. Each picture below is of me and some of the family on the job.

The main person who has made the greatest impact on my life, would have to be my grandfather, Mike Davis. He has taught me so much about taking care of vehicles, cows, crops, etc. He also has taught me some in the art of welding. In my life there has not been one time he has gotten frustrated with me on not being able to catch on quickly with something he is teaching me. Every time I’m out at work there is something new he always has to teach me. Which makes me more wide open to new learning experiences.

On my spare time I play on rugby a club team, ride four wheelers, study for school, and I usually go to the gym or run each day. I am always active and moving, I can not sit down for long periods of time without getting outside and doing hands on stuff. I also like to use my imagination and build things when I have nothing else to do.

Some of my skills- I am good with driving jobs, mechanical stuff, computers/electronics, and catching on fast usually. Some achievements I have accomplished- I have rebuilt dirt bikes, ATV’s, and have worked on a tractor with my grandfather. Goals- My goal now is to go to college and get my welding, mechanics, and agriculture degree. Academically I want to go to go to a 2 year college and possibly a four year college one day.

What I am doing to accomplish these goals are things like, studying, working hard, and putting forth the effort to enjoy what I am doing.

My strengths are how I show a good attitude and give a good work ethic. My weaknesses are when something goes wrong with what I am doing it frustrates me and makes me work slower than I should, so it takes me extra long to finish the job.

In my work I like to be organized with things such as tools and parts to help me finish the job faster, I am usually on time to finish the project I am working on unless on a rare occasion, and I am reliable for anything that someone needs to be done.

In 1837, John Deere, blacksmith and inventor, had little more than a blacksmith shop, a piece of discarded polished steel, and an idea that would help farmers, changing the face of agriculture for all time. In 1852, John Deere buys out his partners. For the next 16 years, the company is known variously as John Deere, John Deere & Company, Deere & Company, and Moline Plow Manufactory. In 1923, Deere launches the Model "D." A success from the start and the first two-cylinder Waterloo-built tractor to bear the John Deere name, it would stay in the product line for 30 years. In 1927, The company produces a combine, the John Deere No. 2. A year later, catalogs advertise the John Deere No. 1, a smaller, more popular machine. By 1929, the No. 1 and No. 2 are replaced by newer, lighter-weight versions. In 1957, Six-row planters and cultivators, John Deere innovations, reach the market. They provide 50 percent more planting and cultivating capacity for row-crop farmers in corn- and cotton-producing areas. Finally in 2012, The company celebrates its 175th anniversary. Net sales and revenues ($36.2 billion) and net income ($3.1 billion) are new records. TENNESSEE TRACTOR, LLC

I was attracted to John Deere by growing up on the farm around John Deere tractors and equipment and learning on how to run them. In my job I have always wanted to stay around the fascinating equipment John Deere has to offer. In this company I can give you my talents I know already on the tractors, combines, cotton pickers, etc. I can also give my hard work. Knowing that I don’t know what others have to offer for the company I can not really have my say on that, but what I can offer is my talents and work to complete the project at hand.

I know the equipment I work with now, and I’m sure I can learn any of the equipment I may have to work on from the past times, present, and future.
