4 Results 2015 - the main positives Results across the school are more consistent than in 2014. Results are stronger than in 2010. (5 A*-C GCSE with English and maths was 49% in 2010; the overall figure of 67% was boosted by BTecs and more modular exams that permitted re-takes). Year 10 performance in Drama, Music, Public Services and R.E. was excellent.

8 ESSENTIAL FOCUS FOR 2015/16 closing the achievement gap

9 The strategy for 2015/16 Appointment of Chris Robertson to the post of Achievement Co- ordinator with a ‘narrow the gap’ focus. A new plan focusing on all year groups rather than on interventions with year 11. An emphasis on the development of literacy across the school. Greater focus on the attendance of PP students which is the most important factor in under-achievement. Review of our plan by an independent PP ‘specialist’.
