2 Headlines- 5A*-C including English and Maths Salford is the most improved Local Authority in the North-West Provisional results indicate that 47.5% students gained 5+A*-C including English and maths, an improvement of 7.2% since 2008. Salford was at least 7% below the national average in 2008 and previous years. In 2009 Salford is likely to have narrowed the gap to the national average to 2% or less.
