6 HRSS – Purpose and How to Access
The Oracle Self Service Human Resources (SSHR) empowers employees and managers to access and update their own information online to facilitate paperless environment, reduce wait time, and streamline processes There are two parts of HRSS: Employee Self Service (ESS) and Manager Self Service (MSS) To access, on the Oracle Applications Home Page, in the left Main Menu panel are the UTRGV Employee Self Service and the UTRGV Manager Self Service (for supervisors only) responsibilities. Click on the “+” sign to expand the menu options to submenus and specific functions

7 HRSS – Oracle Home Page Layout
Oracle Home Page has two main sections: Main Menu – Where different responsibilities are displayed which allow employee different roles based access to Oracle data Worklist Different notifications (FYI or action needed) are displayed Delegation rules can be set to allow other to take actions during employee’s absence

8 HRSS – Oracle Notifications and/or Actions
As supervisor, you may have notifications needing approval actions; e.g. employee’s access request, timecards submitted pending for approval, account certification if Project Manager, etc. To take follow up action, click on the blue link under the Subject column.

9 HRSS – Oracle Notifications and/or Actions
Some actions pending have timeout period set, 3, 5 days, etc. depending on the process. As supervisor, during your absence, you may want to set up Vacation Rules to delegate your actions needed to someone else; once timed out, the initiator will have to recreate the request from scratch and resubmit. In the Vacation Rule, you can Create Rule for different item type as trigger to activate the rule. You could specify the Start and End Dates for the vacation rule. You have the option to Delegate – Person who takes action is acting on behalf of you (ownership stays with you) Transfer – Person who takes action is taking the ownership of his/her action.

Manager Self Service has functionality for supervisors to Review employees training and SEPAP (State Employee Performance Evaluation Program) info Review employee job information

13 MSS – How to Review Employee Information
Supervisors can use the Employee’s Compliance / Training / SEPAP Info to review employees and their subordinates’ compliance training history, other training history, as well as SEPAP (employee annual appraisal) history. Please click on the Action icon ( ) to see employee’s training information

Supervisors can use the My Employee Information to see direct reports and their respective reports’ employment/job information, in a hierarchy structure. This includes Summary Detailed Info – Click on employee name to see more detailed information
