2 Some Context Compulsory collection of statistics on staff teaching qualifications by HESA Coventry has offered Post Graduate accredited teaching qualifications since 1998 New Higher Education Academy Framework for Professional Recognition.

Successful co- ordination, support, supervision, management and/or mentoring of others in relation to L&T. Completion of HEA accredited Senior Fellow Application form route supported by CPD – face to face and online (non-credit bearing) Senior Fellow (D3) Senior Staff with a strategic University role. Sustained record of effective strategic leadership in academic practice and academic development as a key contribution to high quality student learning. Completion of HEA accredited Principal Fellow Application form route supported by CPD – face to face and online (non-credit bearing) Principal Fellow (D4)

7 Implementation Introductory workshops for staff to advise on ‘route’ and fellowship category. Writing workshops for each fellowship category Submission of completed application CU recognition panel operates as an examination board.

8 Key Dates Deadline for submission to Panel 1(8 th May): Friday 10 th April Deadline for the submission to Panel 2 (14 th July): Monday 29 th June

10 Example: Senior Fellow Overview: The ‘dimensions of practice’ (areas of activity, core knowledge and professional values) must be met at the level of descriptor 3 in order for an individual to be recognised as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy

11 The Senior Fellowship recognition application process (non-credit bearing) Attend CU Framework Introduction workshop to determine which recognition route is right for you Attend appropriate Fellowship Preparation and Support workshop Complete and submit appropriate application form i.e. provide the required evidence to demonstrate effective practice

12 The Senior Fellowship recognition application process (non-credit bearing) Application assessed by two independent assessors recognised to a minimum of D3 (SFHEA) An internal assessment panel will act as the examination board to confirm the provisional decisions made by the Assessors Panel has an external member (recognised at Principal Fellow)

13 The Senior Fellowship recognition application process (non-credit bearing) Outcome: o Successful applicants will be eligible for Senior Fellowship of the HEA o Unsuccessful applicants will be provided with feedback and encouraged to resubmit following further development
