6 Activity 1 Read p. 83 – “The Stamp Act Protests” in the North Carolina text book. As you read, complete Analyzing Acts. Do not write on the handout. Copy the graphic organizer on a sheet of paper. After you have completed the graphic organizer, write a 2-3 sentence summary on the Stamp Act.

7 Assessment Prompt – Turn and Talk How did the North Carolina colonists respond to the Stamp Act? Turn to your partner and share your response.

8 Activity 2- The Townshend Acts Read The Townshend Acts on p. 84 and complete the Analyzing Acts graphic organizer. After you have completed the graphic organizer, write a 2-3 sentence summary on the Townshend Acts.

Think about the acts passed and how the colonists responded and their effects on the colonies. You may want to discuss how the acts impacted goods bought and sold in the colonies.
