3. Accolade (noun) a) An expression of strong approval or praise EX. The firefighters received accolades from the town council for their bravery in fighting the Preshtigo Forest blaze.

4. Adulation (noun) a) Enthusiastic or even excessive praise; fawning admiration EX. Some celebrities enjoy the adulation of their fans; others dislike it.

5. Anathema (noun) a) Something that is strongly disapproved of an avoided b) A formal ban or curse on something EX. Polluting lakes and streams is anathema to environmentally conscious businesses.

6. Commend (trans. verb) a) To mention approvingly; praise EX. Both Tom and Sue commended Laura for her championship skiing.

7. Eulogy (noun) a) A speech or written tribute of praise, most often one delivered at a memorial service in honor of the deceased EX. Mark Antony’s eulogy of Caesar is one of the best-known passages in Shakespeare.
