3 Abrogate DEF: To abolish, do away with, repeal, or cancel, especially by authority POSSIBLE SENTENCE TOPIC: What is something that might be abrogated, and why? EXAMPLE: COMPLEX – A contract might be abrogated because it is outdated.

4 Conquistador DEF: A conqueror, especially one of the Spanish soldiers who defeated the native civilizations of Mexico, Central America, or Peru in the 1500s POSSIBLE SENTENCE TOPIC: What might a conquistador do? EXAMPLE: PARTICIPIAL PHRASE – (-ing or -ed), the conquistador ______.
