Do you know what kinds of sport are considered to be a) Olympic sports and games, b) team games, c) unusual and dangerous sports, d) National British kinds of sport. Name as many kinds of sports as you can.

5 III. Reading Text. Talking about sports. Read the following text. Then find the words and expressions in the text to match the definitions below. Ted likes swimming and soccer. He’s a pretty good swimmer. Last week he won the 100-meter swimming race. Ted and some of his friends are also on a soccer team. They have a very good coach. The coach gives wonderful advice. He thinks his athletes need to practice more. He says they should learn to run fast and to kick the ball very hard. Also, the athletes don’t stay calm enough at soccer events. The coach thinks they need to relax more and to go to bed early the night before an important match. 1. This word means a group of players. 2. This person teaches and gives advice to members of a team. 3. This is another word for a person who plays sports. 4. You do this when you want to get somewhere very quickly. 5. You do this with the ball in soccer and football, but not in tennis. 6. This is the opposite of nervous.
