2 Why should I bother shopping on the internet in Korea?  It’s cheaper than in stores.  Shipping is usually 1-2 days  You can get coupons (even for just registering)  If you need to buy a large quantity, or something heavy, it’s easier to have it delivered.  If it’s difficult to find (foreign goods), you’ll find them more easily on the internet  If it’s sold out in stores, you can usually find it online.

3 What kind of websites are there?  Have your groceries delivered  Homeplus: Western goods/British Company  Emart  Lottemart  Buy cosmetics or skin care products  All road shop brands have their own official websites  Ie. Etude House, Innisfree, Aritaum, Skinfood, Missha…  Buy clothes!  Forever 21 and more!

Checkout  Shipping Address  If you have a homestay and they don’t mind, have it delivered to your homestay  Have it delivered it to your school administration office ( 행정실 )– ask in advance ^.^  Payment: A list of the most common methods  Bank Transfer ( 현금 결제 - 무통장 입금 )  *MAKE SURE YOUR NAME MATCHES  Credit/Debit Card ( 신용카드 / 체크 카드 )  Cellphone Transfer ( 휴대폰 결제 )

Shipment!  Most items are shipped the same day  Shipping only takes 1-2 days  The delivery person will usually call your cell phone, they have to deliver it to a person and they must sign for it. You don’t have to answer the phone.  It doesn’t matter who though! Your homestay family, or coworker, or people in the adminstration office can sign for you.  If no one is around, they usually give it to the security office ( 경비실 ), or a local convenience store, laundromat, or stationery store.  If they really can’t find anyone, they’ll try again another day.

22 Grocery delivery…  Pick a day and time window  You get a text the day of, reminding you  You can check delivery status online  They don’t usually call, they just come within that time slot. So be there.  They’ll only call for you to let them up to your apartment/room.

23 Membership/Coupons/Points  A lot of websites are under one company, so if you register for one, you can use multiple sites…  All sites offer membership grades, points, coupons  Websites: Aritaum, Innisfree, etc.  Apps: Yogiyo, Movie tickets

24 Useful Korean Vocabulary  회원가입 = Sign up/register  확인 = confirm  동의 = accept  취소 = cancel  가입 완료 = Registration complete  선택 = Choose/select  선택하세요 = Make a selection (ie. choose the color you want)  바로 구매 = check out only that 1 item immediately  장바구니 = cart/shopping cart  위시리스트 = wishlist  결제 = Payment  결제 완료 = Payment complete  주문 조회 = Check order history  배송 준비 중 / 중 = Preparing for shipment/shipped
