2 Steps to Naturalization Process 1.Legal aliens move into the US to become a citizen 2. Be 18 years old 3. Sign a statement, the Declaration of Intention, and file it with the USCIS 4. Live in the US 5 years, 3 if married 5. Take classes to prepare for citizenship 6. Live in the state where they want to be naturalized for 3 months 7. File an application for citizenship 8. Interview with USCIS official to check for necessary requirements and person is of good moral character 9. Take citizenship exam 10. Application for citizenship is granted 11. Take the Oath of Allegiance to the United States
