What Legal Aliens Can’t Do Vote Run for public office Work in government jobs Must carry an ID card at all times.
Naturalization - The Process File a declaration of intent. Study English, American History, Civics. Must live in the U.S. for 5 years. (3 years if married to a U.S. citizen.)
File an Application for Naturalization. Application review by the USCIS. United States Citizenship and Immigration Service. Have interview. Take Citizenship test on U. S. history, civics, and english.
