Changes All GCSEs are now Linear (exams at end plus ‘controlled assessment’ during course for some..) Increased emphasis on spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPaG) and QWC RPA = Raising of the Participation Age ‘you will need to remain in training or education until your 18 th birthday’

Design Technology AQA Controlled assessment: yes Yr10 & 11, 60% Written exams: end Yr 11, 40% Theory lessons important!! One from: Resistant Materials (RM), food technology, textiles, graphic products, electronic products.

Design Technology: thoughts Balance the ‘making’ with thorough design plans and paperwork Students submit a design ‘folder’ as well as their product RM, Graphics, Electronics: this is a ‘virtual’ (electronic) folder Keep on top of this element!! Weekly after school access to workshops and staff
