www.sitecore.net Plan for Session 1 - Crawling  How to learn using new interface and do what we used to do  Changes in the Content Tree and concept of the Recipient List  Create new message  Create subscription template  Reuse old messages

www.sitecore.net Your typical steps in new interface  Creating a message  Building a Recipient List Populate Marketing Opt-In List in CRM  Reviewing a message  Testing a message ECM testing Dispatching to your seed list  Dispatching a message  Reviewing reports

www.sitecore.net Today’s training scenarios 1.Create a new One Time Message Use existing seed list Send Test message Dispatch Duplicate dispatched message Remove the Recipient List Build a new Recipient List Update the Opt-In and Opt-out roles Update Opt-in Marketing list in CRM

www.sitecore.net Creating a new message  Naming convention for Email name: Start with your Region ISO code Use Asset codes for better identification Example:  US WB CX Maturity Model Partner

www.sitecore.net ECM 2 New Message Type  One Time Message Every time new recipients list  Subscription Message intended to be dispatched regularly to a specific recipient list lets you skip the Recipients step “From” address will be preset  Triggered Message Sent to a single person at a time, when triggered by a specific event Example: a message to user registered for a website, or to a user who visited the website once but has not returned for three weeks. Do not have a fixed or defined number of recipients, since the module knows the recipient only when an events or a condition is triggered by that recipient. 6:45

www.sitecore.net Access ECM Directly : http://staging.dk.sitecore.net/speak - Staging for practicinghttp://staging.dk.sitecore.net/speak From Backend – Page Editor – or Start menu

www.sitecore.net Send what?  Create a message

www.sitecore.net How to Edit a Message  Edit subject and body  Add tokens to message and body  Add links  Set alternative text  Add attachment 6:50

www.sitecore.net Send to whom?  Create a Recipient List

www.sitecore.net ECM 2 Recipient Lists = ECM Target Audiences  In ECM 1.x you had to create and define a target audience before creating an email message  In ECM 2.x you can create a message first and then build a recipient list for it or choose an existing list. This gives you increased flexibility for creating your campaigns Newly created Recipients Lists are not in the regional folders but by year/day/time Marketer needs to remember/lookup names of the lists to reuse them through search or find them in backend 6:50

www.sitecore.net New Structure Old Structure Target Audience became Recipient List Standard Messages became Service Messages New Messages after upgrade

www.sitecore.net Recipients Build a List  A recipient is an individual with an associated e-mail address that receives messages  ECM stores recipients in recipient lists  On sitecore.net recipient lists are CRM Marketing Lists You can create an empty CRM Marketing Lists from ECM – Opt-in and Opt-Out You populate members to the Marketing list in CRM Clean up empty CRM Marketing lists if you not going to use them

www.sitecore.net ECM 2 – Build Recipient List  You define a Recipient List in ECM which will create a pair of Marketing Lists in CRM:  opt-in role  opt-out role

www.sitecore.net Recipient Lists  Building a New Recipient List  Viewing a Recipient List  Building an Opted Out List  Viewing an Opted Out List

www.sitecore.net Reviewing a Message  When you prepared a message, you can review it using the following options: Send a quick test Preview a message in different email clients Perform a spam check

www.sitecore.net Testing a message  Send a quick test to yourself  External links will not work  Unsubscribe link will not work  Dispatch to a small list of emails – send list Check all links Check unsubscribe links

www.sitecore.net ECM 2 - Dispatch

www.sitecore.net Prepare for dispatching to the real list  Duplicate the message  Remove the Recipient list  Build new Recipient list  Update Opt-in and Opt-out lists  Dispatch

www.sitecore.net Demo  Create One Time message 7:00

www.sitecore.net Subscription Message  Intended to be dispatched regularly to a specific recipient list  Lets you skip the Recipients step  Fields will be preset 7;20

www.sitecore.net Subscription Message  You can modify the recipient list for a specific subscription message before dispatching if you want  This will not affect other subscription messages that are based on the same template.  You can save messages as subscription messages using the Save as Subscription Message action  The Save as a Subscription Template operation changes the type of the original message, it does not copy the message.  If you want to keep the original message intact, you may want to duplicate it before saving it as a subscription message.  You can save as a Subscription Message Template 6:45

www.sitecore.net Subscription Message  If you want to make a Subscription Template Duplicate message Save it as a Subscription Template  Start creating email from the Subscription Template 7:00

www.sitecore.net How to Find an Existing Message  Recently Dispatched Does not show Triggered messages and messages in the Draft state.  Search Messages Shows all messages that exist in the current ECM manager root  Draft Messages Shows messages that have been created but have not been sent yet

www.sitecore.net Reuse old converted messages  Search or find in the backend
