2 Milford’s Special Education Mission and Vision Mission: Milford Public Schools Special Education’s mission is to identify students who meet the federal and state criteria for a disability requiring special education. It is our mission to provide individualized services in the least restrictive environment that will empower our students to become active members of society based on their individual strengths and abilities. As a district, we are committed to providing a caring community of dedicated trained staff while involving parents to help meet the diverse academic, emotional and social needs of all our students in a respectful and positive environment. Vision: Our vision is to afford every student the opportunity to succeed through high quality special education instruction and we will do so by collaborating with families, students, school teams, and the greater Milford community. Together, we will focus on the positive attributes and recognize the individual strengths and achievements of our students while promoting their future successes.
