4. marketplace Aim: To get all the information you need for the quiz at the end of the lesson. How: in groups of 4 you will research ONE country where conflict is occurring. You will become ‘experts’ on this country. Each group will receive an information pack on their country. They use this information to create fact files. 3 members of your group will then visit the market to find out as much as possible from the other country experts. Timeframe: 4 stages. Each stage will be timed.

It must be easily understood by visitors and may use no more than 20 words. Who runs the country? How did the war start? Why? Who is involved? What is the impact? Stage 2 - 10 minutes Decide who will be your group’s store holder. The store holder must tout for business. The other members of the group will be visiting the market trying to get as much information as they can. Use your time and labour wisely. Remember to take notes. Stage 3 - 5 minutes Return to home base and share the information you found out with your market stall. The aim is to be ready for the quiz. You may revisit stalls if you need to ask quick questions. Stage 4 - 10 minutes Quiz!

7. stage two Roll the dice to decide on who will be your stallholder- the highest number wins The stallholder stays on your table whilst the other group members each visit a different country On post it notes, the group members must collect as much information as possible After 10 minutes you must return to your groups and discuss findings 10 minutes!
