3.  Long moved in with his mother to Florida when he was 2.  He spent his year traveling between Florida and West Virginia due to his parent’s sporadic relationship.  Long and his mother shared a bed until he was 13  Long developed a hatred for women specially his mother since she was always bringing different men home with her (Bio.com).

His wife described him as having a “dangerous sex-drive”  He moved in with his female friend which later accused him of rape.  In 1984 he committed premeditated rape. 9.  He was looking for women. Specifically prostitutes, stripers, or drug users. All very vulnerable women. (Bio.com)

14.  Long is known to have killed 10 or more women, and also raped around 50 women.  Long was a stable killer. He mainly stayed in the Tamba Bay region. (Bio.com)

15.  He did has an M.O. Which consisted of raping and strangulation to prostitute women.  BUT he would pick these women at random. Not planned.  Sometimes he would shoot them, but sometimes he would cut their throats, that would change depending on what he wanted (Bio.com)

16.  Serving multiple life prison sentences.  Though he received 2 death sentences, his execution has been delayed by several appeals over the past several years. He remains on Florida’s death row. (Bio.com)

17.  He did not kill one of his lasts victim. He basically treated her like a sex slave for 26 consecutive hours. Where he would rape her repeatedly.  It was this victim’s testimony that led the police to Long.  Some theorize that by letting her go…he wanted to get caught. (Bio.com)
