PRESENT TENSE OF THE VERBS: ACHETER AND PRÉFÉRER
2
The endings of the verbs acheter (to buy) and préférer (to prefer) are regular; however, there is an accent grave over the final e (è) in the stem of the je, tu, il/elle/on, and ils/elles forms. The nous and vous forms do not have an accent grave over the final e.

PRESENT TENSE OF REGULAR VERBS ENDING IN -RE
8
The infinitives of many French verbs end in –re. Most of these verbs, such as vendre (to sell), are regular. To form the present tense of a regular –re verb, first find the stem of the verb by removing the –re ending of the infinitive. Next, add the endings (-s,-s, --, -ons, -ez, -ent) to the stem of the verb depending on the corresponding subject pronouns. NOTE THAT NO ENDING IS ADDED TO THE STEM IN THE IL/ELLE/ON FORM.
