You Can Go! To College, Technical, or Other School

Excuses, Excuses...  I don’t have the money to pay for college  I did not get accepted into the College I want  I need a break from school  I do not have time  I do not know where to begin  I don’t want to OR I don’t need to  It’s too hard, I can’t do it.

College Acceptance  All students with a High School Diploma can enroll into community college OR technical school.  Community College’s such as Lake Sumter or Valencia have DIRECT CONNECT where students can get admitted to UCF or FSU once they have earned their associates degree. Make sure you inform your advisor so that they can get you placed in the correct classes for those colleges.  There is a PLAN for each of us. There is a reason... Adjust. Move forward. Dreams require steps.

No TimeLost  Colleges and Universities offer part time, night time, hybrid, and online courses.  Lake Tech offers programs that get you a career in less than a year  Community College offers 2 year programs  Make an appointment to see Mrs. Theobald. Simply shoot me an e-mail or go to guidance corner.  Talk to your teachers, friends, parents... Help is here.  Use the internet to conduct a college search.

I don’t want/need to  You are in charge of you. It’s up to you.  Remember, education brings opportunity.  Most students who stop at a High School Diploma do not earn a living wage.  Employment data reveals most HS Diploma jobs are in retail, restaurant, and service jobs. They are minimum wage and most do not include healthcare benefits.

It’s too hard...  There is a program that is right for each student.  All it takes is a “One day at a time” mentality.
