7. PearsonAccess Open for K-PREP Testing The enrollment window is currently open for 2016 K-PREP spring testing. PearsonAccess is available for districts and schools to: ▪View student enrollment counts for K-PREP. Please contact KDE if there is a 15-20% discrepancy in the enrollment counts; otherwise, no action is needed. ▪Order accommodated testing materials (Braille, large-print, audio and text reader) ▪Update district and school profiles (addresses, Building Assessment Coordinators) KDE:OAA:DSR: 2016 7

Data Quality ▪It is vital to keep Infinite Campus (IC) up-to-date. ▪Instead of providing KDE a list of courses that the school/district uses for English II, Algebra II, Biology, and U.S. History, school/district staff are required to add the EOC assessment to the course (course master) in the Assessment Tab. Completing this action will allow student accounts to be created in ACT QualityCore platform as well as creating student testing rosters in SDRR for testing/accountability. KDE:OAA:DSR: 2016 11

Every Student Succeeds Act Update January 11 ▪U.S. Department of Education (USED) held the first of two public hearings to provide advice and recommendations concerning issues related to the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)Every Student Succeeds Act January 19 ▪The second public hearing is at the University of California-Los Angeles. ▪The deadline to register for this meeting was January 12 at 5:00 p.m. ET. KDE:OAA:DSR: 2016 17 Purpose of these hearings is to clarify statutory ambiguities or to provide appropriate flexibility.
