9 Summary: VPS & DRS Suite LRS positions JES inbound processes under the DRS Suite and JES outbound processes under the VPS Suite. Each product function in both VPS Suite and DRS suite are separately licensed. This includes menu access. There are actually some LRS clients that have not had any of the VMCF options licensed and did everything via line commands, but most have one and don’t operationally recognise it separately from VPS.

CA Spool r11.7 Some Features

Web Print GUI What: A Web-based Print GUI which offers the same functions and facilities to corporate Intranet users as the CA Spool Menu System is offering to 3270 users. Why: To let end-users manage their printing in their nowadays normal environment, so they don’t need to have access to a 3270 terminal or terminal emulator anymore. How: By adding a new HTML presentation layer to the kernel of the CA Spool Menu System, which converts 3270 datastream into HTML on the fly. The Web Print GUI runs as a native CGI gateway program under the free z/OS HTTP server which is part of the z/OS base product.

18 Web GUI Files, Printers, Actions

19 Web GUI Browse files, invoke viewers

20 Web GUI Files for any printer?

21 Web GUI Printer details? Go to printer Web page?

Email Print Driver What: Automatic distribution of CA Spool print files as text, PDF, PCL, MS Word, MS Excel, etc. email attachments to user’s email mailboxes for viewing and printing. Why: To allow distribution of CA Spool files to users who have no direct connection to the system. How: A new SMTP email print driver added. When a spool file is selected on a email printer the spool file is send as an email attachment to an email server using the SMTP protocol. After spool file send it is marked as printed. The email printer looks for more files to print.

Email Web Link Support What: Automatic distribution of email, with html message formatting, containing clickable link to user report, allowing user driven access as needed. Why: To provide the ability for better formatting of message text and a lighter load on the email system. Provide users secure access to reports on as needed basis. How: HTMLIB HTML skeleton members can be used to give CA Spool files sent via email a common look and feel. New email parameters: –MSGTYPE=TEXT/HTML parameter specifies if the message body should be Plain Text or HTML. Default is TEXT. –WEBLINK=link-name specifies the displayed name of the URL Link as shown in the HTML message body. –HTMLFORM=Form specifies the name of the form to be included from HTMLIB. The default is the file's form name. Sample demonstration instructions provided.

Dataset Print Driver What: Automatic copying of CA Spool files into MVS datasets and USS HFS files. Why: To place CA Spool files into MVS datasets and USS HFS files for further processing. How: A new DISK print driver added. When a spool file is selected on a DISK printer an output MVS dataset or HFS file is dynamic allocated. The spool file is copied to the output dataset or HFS file and marked as printed. The output dataset or HFS file is unallocated. The DISK printer looks for more files to print.

25 Formatted Documents ? —Text to PDF, HTML or RTF wrappers —Xerox LCDS driver —AFP to PDF Transformer (Option) —AFP to PCL Transformer (Option) —AFP to Postscript Transformer (Option) —Metacode to PDF Transformer (Option) —Metacode to PCL Transformer (Option) —Metacode to Postscript Transformer (Option)

Text file wrappers What: Automatic formatting and conversion of text files to PDF, HTML and RTF files on the fly, while the files are being sent as email attachments directly to the end-users or passed to CA View, CA Dispatch or CA Bundl for archiving and viewing. Why: To allow end-users to receive and view thier reports using their favorit PC viewer. How: If a text file processed giving a filename extension equal to PDF, HTML or RTF, the file is automatically formatted and converted into the specified data-stream during sending. The formatting and paper size, orientation, line spacing and font style (family, pitch, style, stroke) are controlled by actual file’s Form, FCB, Line count, Chars, channel skips and max record length written.

Xerox DocuSP LCDS Print Driver What: A new LCDS print driver which allow CA Spool to route LCDS (Line Conditional Data Stream) print files to Xerox DocuSP family printers over the TCP/IP network. Why: To support the special LPR/LPD protocol required to send print files to Xerox DocuSP family printers and print servers. How: A new LCDS print driver added, which performs as follows: –Sends data in EBCDIC without translation –Converts ASA carriage control to machine carriage control –Adds carriage control information if missing –Includes FCB in data file –Adds record length info per record to ensure accurate transmission and interpretation of the LCDS data.

Transformers What: Integrated transformer technology to provide conversion of AFP & Xerox formatted documents to PDF (Adobe), PCL or PostScript formats. Why: To have reports automatically converted into desired formats. Converted documents may be printed, sent as email attachment and/or stored stored in output management repository. Appropriate viewers may be invoked if viewing from CA Spool Web GUI. If stored in output management repository, Web Viewer may invoke appropriate viewer also. How: Invoke transformer processing based upon printer parameter definitions and automatic detection of AFP format of inbound file. Create outbound file back into CA Spool in desired format with appropriate attribute stored identifying appropriate extension.

Print Data Encryption What: Add AES Rijndael print data encryption to support Capella’s SecureDIMM card on selected HP printer models. Why: To be able to send print data securely encrypted over the public TCP/IP network without having the risk that the print data can be read if intercepted prior to the authorized destination. How: During sending of a print file for each data piece the IBM ICSF (Integrated Cryptographic Service Facility), which is part of the z/OS base product, is called to encrypt the data before it is send over TCP/IP. The ICSF load library CSF.SCSFMOD0 must be added to the LNKLST or to the CA Spool STEPLIB concatenation.

30 —Capella’s SecureDIMM II Package: −SecureDIMM II printer encryption card (DIMM means – Dual Inline Memory Module). −Only selected newer HP printer models are supported. −SecureDIMM uses 16 bytes persistent keys. −Printed SecureDIMM User Guide. −SecureDIMM CD contains: The CryptTst.prn test file which prints a picture of a Volkswagen if the encryption card functions. The aesCrypt Utility to encrypt file and to change printer encryption key. Windows SecureDIMM Print Driver Extension used to specify encryption key and enable encryption. Print Data Encryption – Newer HP

LPD Print Data Decryption What: Add CA LPD and LPD Interface AES Rijndael print data decryption support. 16, 24 and 32 bytes persistent encryption keys are supported. Why: To be able to receive securely encrypted print data over the public TCP/IP network without having the risk that the print data can be read if intercepted prior to the authorized destination. How: During receiving of an encrypted print file, for each piece of encrypted data the IBM ICSF (Integrated Cryptographic Service Facility), which is part of the z/OS base product, is called to decrypt the data before the data is stored. The ICSF load library CSF.SCSFMOD0 must be added to the LNKLST or to the CA Spool or CA LPD STEPLIB concatenation.
