49 Network

50 Ethernet Network Ethernet is THE worldwide network standard
Components can be installed anywhere Using Ethernet vs. proprietary cabling means reducing design cost cabling cost training efforts the cable length of loudspeaker lines, and re-using existing cables

51 Ethernet network

52 Audio latency Challenges solved:
Protocol critical to time delays QoS (Quality of Service) Internal switches (system heterogeneity) The number of announcements is limited by the bandwidth available (0.5MBit per announcement) up to 120ch. in a 100Mbit network Network is permanently monitored Up to 250 DOM

53 Input to output: Between DOM: 0,23 ms (!) 30,3 ms

54 Audio latency Low latency is important only to stereo applications in theater, concert hall, etc. In VA/PA applications not relevant: Sound wave run in 30ms are about 9,9m (0.03s*330m/s) Usually there are several speakers and reflections around This cause many reflections with a delay of much more than 30ms.

55 Audio In- and outputs UIM, audio inputs Analog audio inputs
CD Player UIM, audio inputs CD-Player Configuration LAN TCP/IP Analog audio inputs via UIM (2 lines) - via DCS15 (1 line) Analog audio outputs via UIM (2x) - via DCS15 (1x)

56 SIP / VoIP / RoIP Interface
CD Player LAN TCP/IP Telephone interface: VoIP RoIP SIP - One telephone number to one or two destination’s ( a speaker line or a group of lines) Selection of over DTMF - Dual-tone multi-frequency

57 Analog telephone interface
CD Player local loop (analog telephone) LAN TCP/IP 1 x NF Signal 4 x dry contacts Analog telephone interface: Local Loop connector One telephone number to one to four destinations ( a speaker line or or a group of lines) Selection of over DTMF - Dual-tone multi-frequency
