5 Resume Purpose A resume should be a brief summary of your skills, experiences, and other qualifications. It should entice the reader to learn more about you in an interview or through other application materials.

6 . It is a tool used to help connect you to your goal, which may include: Employment Internships Graduate School Scholarships/Grants/Fellowships Participation in Professional Activities such as conferences and presentations.

7 From the reader’s perspective, a resume can: Introduce the candidate Tell the employer if you have the required qualifications Generate questions from the information provided and serve as an “agenda” for the interview Remind the reader who you are and what you have to offer after the interview and when it's time to make some final decisions *Attract an employers attention and prompt an invitation for an interview
