6 Status TEL62  LAV1 and LAV2 are currently equipped with working TEL62s (old) and TDCBs  LAV3 TEL62 has a faulty DDR and a faulty TDCB connector, unfortunately not on the same slot…  LAV4 is equipped with a new TEL62 and 3 TDCBs v7  Need 11 new Tel62 and all TDCBs 4 June 2014Mauro Raggi - Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati6

7 Status of the DCS development  DCS user requirement document required by Valeri  We sent the document 15 April 2014 containing all needed specs  Firmware of LAV FEE boards updated to last version 1.01.384  Meeting with Valeri foreseen this week to finalize panels configuration  Needs:  Panels for all the 12 LAV stations to be completed  Stability test with a full crate in operation 4 June 2014Mauro Raggi - Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati7

9 Update on the L0 trigger primitive  Started to implement parts for the trigger primitive  Implemented more option for the primitive production threshold  Always produce a primitive if there are two leading (L H. L L, window)  Ask for at least a trailing in the L or H threshold or both  Ask for the ToT to be longer than a programmable value for both low and High.  Errors connected to event logger  PP High without Low  SL FIFO full for each channel 4 June 2014Mauro Raggi - Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati9

10 Possible single-station primitive  Muon like particle (or low energy): Primitive ID: 0000 0001 11xx xxxx  Only low threshold in a block with leading and trailing and small ToT  No more than 5 blocks  Photon like particle (Mid energy): Primitive ID: 0000 0010 11xx xxxx  Full hit (T H and T L ) reconstructed in at least 3 block  At least 1 block with E>0.5 GeV (made using T Lead (High)-T lead (Low)  High multiplicity (High Energy): Primitive ID: 0000 0100 11xx xxxx  More than 10 blocks with full hit  Total Energy >5 GeV  LAV calibration: Primitive ID : 0000 1000 11xx xxxx  At least one full hit in the LAV station (leading + trailing in the Low thr)  Implementation to be studied Note: Trigger conditions are not mutually exclusive Note: the estimate of the energy will be very raw and has still to be implemented. 11 Calibration triggers  The LAV will be able to provide its own calibration trigger  A calibration trigger based on the Q1&LAV condition will be desirable  Used to collect a      with a photon in the LAV + some muons  The expected rate is low and depends on the LAVs used (can be in any case downscaled)  Implementation needs the OR of the triggers from all the 12 stations (need interTel62 communication)  In October test can be foreseen with LAV12 to compare data with other control trigger  LAV only trigger will also be needed  Most of upstream LAV have small acceptance at the CHOD  Allows to get unbiased illumination of the detector and muon halo  Will be useful to keep such a trigger during the muon runs 4 June 2014Mauro Raggi - Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati11

12 End of burst data  We expect to get at the end of burst:  Histogram of total number of hits per channel (trigger less)  Histogram of number of leading  Histogram of number of trailing  We expect to use the standard firmware tool to fill the histograms  Like using “tdcccounter”  Try to include some pulses form LED to be discussed further 4 June 2014Mauro Raggi - Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati12

13 L1 and L2 processing  As proposed from G. Ruggiero during physics sensitivity this will be developed using early data coming form L0 trigger only  Reconstruction of LAV events connecting all the stations information in a single LAV response for the entire event.  Match muons in different LAV 4 June 2014Mauro Raggi - Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati13

14 Conclusion  The LAV electronics test is successfully completed  Commissioning is complete up to ANTI-A5  Almost ready up to ANTI-A8  Waiting Tel62 and 4 crates to finalize the commissioning  The LAV L0 firmware is almost ready for the L0 primitive  First discussion on calibration triggers started 4 June 2014Mauro Raggi - Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati14
