Collaboration IVT Program Overview April 2015

Why Participate in IVT? Participation in upper program tiers: IVT is required for members to participate in the Preferred Solution Developer tier. Partner Benefit: By demonstrating compliance through IVT, the partner can promote their products and technologies as “Cisco Compatible.” This informs prospective customers that they have taken the appropriate steps to prove the interoperability of the solution based on Cisco criteria. Customers faced with a choice between tested and un-tested products are likely to prefer the product that has gone through IVT. Customer Benefit: Use of Solution Partner Program member products with Compatibility logo are eligible for coordinated support benefits via Cisco TAC and Cisco Developer Services

Testing Requirement Solution Partner Program Membership is required for IVT participation to move to upper tiers and gain program benefits such as the Cisco Compatibility Logo, Marketplace listing, etc. Preferred Solution Members are required to test per the program agreement to maintain tier status as follows: – With each major* release of either Cisco product or program member product listed in the Solutions Catalogue to maintain Preferred tier status. Testing is available for non Solution Partner Program members. IVT for non members results in a Cisco Compatibility Certificate and no other program benefits. Developer Services can also be purchased to jointly support customer engagements. Note: Major release constitutes feature additions to either product. The program is not designed to require unnecessary testing. If a statement guaranteeing no changes were made to the interface with Cisco product is provided to the IVT program, the requirement may be waived and the version recognized as having met testing requirements. This is policy is at the sole discretion of the Cisco and the IVT program.

Test Preparation Test plans are based on product category templates (ex: Call Accounting, Voice Recording, Phone Applications, etc.). The partner reviews the test plan and identifies any features/functions not supported and/or adds specific functional cases relative to the product. The final test plan should be pre-executed by the partner against the exact product versions to be used in the IVT lab. This testing occurs in the partner lab or in the DevNet Sandbox by the partner. This will help to insure no surprises in the actual test event and much higher chance of success. The DevNet Sandbox has lab environments that can be accessed remotely if a lab is not available to the partner. DevNet Sandbox Information:developer.cisco.com/sandboxdeveloper.cisco.com/sandbox

Ensure Quality integrations with 3 rd party products by validating the following criteria: Performance and load testing of integration points/functionality. Validation of redundancy (Failover/Failback) Validation/Evaluation of 3 rd party Integrated Features Partner product operates and performs as indicated in collateral and specifications (from integration perspective only) Successfully integrates with Cisco products while not adversely affecting Cisco product operation IVT Objective

 Testing is focused on integration points of partner products and Cisco products, not on the product itself.  Types of tests executed: Functional verification of interfaces between partner product and Cisco product. Load/Performance testing (traffic over time) using a subset of functional test scenarios Negative testing (connectivity failure, redundancy, recovery) Cisco Product Integrating Product Test Focus Testing Focus

Test Execution  All IVT’s are executed via the onsite at a authorized Cisco lab or through the DevNet Sandbox IVT program. Servers for VMware images of partner products provided.  Services Lab: TekVizion: Located close to Cisco Richardson campus in Texas All tests executed based on Cisco defined criteria and overview Partners are not required to attend the testing event, but are required to provide on- call support during the testing. DevNet Sandbox Self Driven IVT  Partner engineer executes the test in the DevNet Sandbox  Sandbox IVT lab is based on identical criteria as our authorized 3 rd party labs  Labs are paid for and reserved for specific periods of time – test is executed in a contiguous fashion over 3 to 7 days.

Sandbox IVT – Putting You in the Drivers Seat! Reduce out of pocket costs to partners Use of automation supporting repeatability and efficiency Efficiency gains due to partner product knowledge Quick time to market with Cisco Compatibility Certification by eliminating 3 rd party lab business transaction process and queue of other work Provided as a choice. Program members will still have access to authorized labs if services are preferred

Sandbox IVT – How it Works Self Driven IVT – Partner engineer executes the test in the DevNet Sandbox – Sandbox IVT lab is based on identical criteria as our authorized 3 rd party labs – Labs are paid for and reserved for specific periods of time – test is executed in a contiguous fashion over 3 to 7 days. – Labs have workflows automating as much as possible for efficiency and simplification. – Data is collected throughout the test and validated when test is complete and submitted to Cisco.
