2 Tennessee Higher Education Commission Context Progress toward the Drive to 55 requires alignment between K-12 and higher education. –Minimized duplication (P20 data system) –Compatibility (high school requirements) Joint report speaks to state needs and Master Plan fulfillment

3 Tennessee Higher Education Commission Drive to 55 Approximately 37.8 percent of working age Tennesseans currently hold a postsecondary credential To reach the Drive to 55, 871,309 additional credentials will need to be awarded by 2025.

4 Tennessee Higher Education Commission SBE Master Plan Goals TN will rank in the top half of states on the NAEP by the year 2020. The average ACT composite score in TN will be a 21, or a comparable score of 990 on the SAT, by 2020. The majority of high school graduates from the class of 2020 will earn a postsecondary certificate, diploma, or degree.
