Louisiana Community & Technical College System Changing Lives, Creating Futures The Louisiana Challenge One in five adults (aged 18-64) in Louisiana have not finished high school ranking us near the bottom in the U.S. The number one reason given by companies for not locating to Louisiana is a lack of a qualified workforce. At least 55% of all new jobs will require 1-2 years of specialized education and training. Yet, only 8% of our high school graduates go to community and technical colleges to develop the knowledge, skills and abilities required for these jobs. It is a realization by our leaders that we must not stop progress in this key area of education and workforce development at a time when LCTCS has seen a significant enrollment increase.
