Most of what we know about everyday life is based on paintings that cover the walls of tombs and temples. Written records also exist.

3 Egyptian Social Classes
PYRAMID OF POWER Pharaoh’s Family Egyptian social classes resemble a pyramid Prisoners captured in war became slaves. Slaves did have rights and could be set free. There was mobility In the class system Peasants could own land Women had most of the same rights as men UPPER CLASS Priests, Court Members, Nobles MIDDLE CLASS Scribes, Merchants, Skilled Workers LOWER CLASS Laborers (paid), Peasants, Farmers Slaves

5 Science and Medicine Egypt was a “Land of great learning”

6 Egypt and Nubia There is much evidence of trade between Nubia and Egypt It is suggested that the two cultures were peaceful, friendly, neighbors.
