2 Organizing Foldable Fractions 1.Fold and label the squares as follows: – Blue square into halves, – Green square into fourths, – Red square into eighths, and – Orange square into sixteenths. 2.List the criteria for which you would organize these colored squares. 3.Cut the squares along the folds. 3 Movie Time Joe and Tommy planed to go to the movies together. Joe lives 20 minutes from the movie theater, and Tommy lives 17 minutes from Joe’s house. If the movie starts at 2:45 pm, what time will Tommy have to leave his house to pick up Joe and get to the movie theater by 2:30pm? M12.4.1

7 Analyzing Area Using grid paper, draw a rectangle with an area of 60 units squared. How many units is the longest side? How many units is the shortest side? Describe the formula used to find the area of this rectangle. Modify your rectangle using different dimensions. M13.4.10

8 Crazy Customary Heights With a partner, stand against the wall and place a piece of tape at the highest point to measure partner’s height. Switch and repeat the process for your partner. Record heights to the nearest foot and to the nearest inch. Record actual height then calculate the difference. M12.5.2
