All About Mrs. Grant Beginning my 14 th year teaching 2 years in Spring ISD, 12 years in Klein ISD My family: Husband-Gary 2 daughters: Brittany, Megan 1 son: Greg 1 dog: Aussie

All About Mrs. Juneau My background I grew up in East Texas I received my degree from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. My experience I’ve been teaching for 21 years. All 21 of these years have been in Klein, 19 at Northampton. I have taught grades 2 – 3; Resource K - 2.

Classroom Community Our classroom is a community. In our community, we have rules to help us get along with each other. Our class rules are: The same as school rules. We follow procedures to make our day run smoothly.

Homework I will assign Math Homework on Monday and Wednesday. Mrs. Grant will assign ELA homework on Tuesday and Thursday Students should read every night at least 15 minutes. Students will be expected to return library books on time.

Homework Folder/Agenda Book This is an important communication tool for teachers and parents. Please check your child ’ s Folder and Agenda Book every day. Failing Papers will require a signature and return.

Class Subjects The subjects covered in Mrs. Juneau’s class are: Math Science The subjects covered in Mrs. Grant’s class are: Reading Language Social Studies

Math Continuous practice with + and - facts. Many new concepts as well as review Other topics: basic problem solving, counting money, telling time, 2-digit and 3-digit addition and subtraction, measurement and introduction to multiplication and division.

Science Science Lab – experiments. Life Science: animals, plants, life cycles, habitats, food chains Earth Science: weather, rocks, minerals, and solar system Physical Science: solids, liquids, and gases, forms of energy and sound

Reading Expectations Enjoy and gain more confidence in Reading. Focus more on Comprehension and Reading fluency. Reading Rally: 10 week program with 60 minutes each week After the 10 weeks with at least 600 minutes of reading logs they can start Accelerated Reader. AR will continue thru 6 th grade.

Parent Teacher Conference This year we will be conducting parent conferences on October 14, 2013. Times will be from: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. @ 15 min. intervals We will be discussing strengths, weaknesses, and goals for this coming year. Please sign up for a time convenient for you! We look forward to discussing your child ’ s progress!

Teacher Conference Times Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:30 – 2:15 We are also available on some mornings and afternoons.

General Information Always send notes if your child has any changes (i.e. transportation, absences, early dismissals, or concerns of any kind) Children need to be prepared and dressed appropriately to go outside for recess everyday.
