Collimation: To include both elbow and shoulder within field. Positioning: AP: Patient erect or supine. adjust humerus with Epicondyles parallel with Bucky or IR. Lateral: Patient erect or supine. medially rotate shoulder until Epicondyles are perpendicular to Bucky or IR.

14 Breathing Technique: The breathing technique would be familiar to most radiographers when utilized to blur lung markings which would otherwise obscure bony details. An exposure time of at least 1 second or over 3 to 4 seconds will provide best results but will also increase the risk of undesirable movement unsharpness. Technique: The breathing technique combines a long exposure with gentle patient breathing.
