2 What is malaria? Malaria is a deadly disease that attacks 300 to 500 million people each year. It is mainly a disease of poverty and attacks children under the age of five. Malaria are mostly found in Africa, Asia and South America as shown in the map.

3 What makes malaria so dangerous? Falciparum malaria is dangerous deadly disease. It causes fever, headache, vomiting and other flu-like symptoms. Malaria kills by infecting and destroying red blood cells (anaemia) and by clogging the capillaries that carries blood to the brain (cerebral malaria) or other vital organs.

4 Method Find out what type of protection there are for malaria already and how effective they are. Find what –if any- type of vaccine there are to protect people from falciparum malaria.
