3 E-MBS DG Goal To draft E-MBS amendment text that can be adopted in D2 during Session #63.5 (Hawaii) – Must have very high level of support (75% required for adoption) – Must be fully specified and self-consistent; cannot contain major placeholders or vague text for which protocols/procedures will need to be specified later.

6 E-MBS DG Strategy Use the DG to specify a simple baseline E-MBS system – Stick to a modest scope and to basic operational E-MBS concepts – Generate DG document which can meet the 75% acceptance requirement Extensions and more advanced E-MBS features may be considered at Hawaii if it finds > 75% support or as LB comments against the D2 or later drafts.

7 E-MBS Prioritized Topics Basic Operation of E-MBS E-MBS Control and MAP E-MBS MIMO E-MBS Zone specific pilots – Mr. Bo Sun (ZTE) will lead harmonization efforts The agreed Table of Contents defining the scope of the DG is in C802.16m-09/2127r1

8 Proposed Timeline September 4 th – E-MBS DG chairs will release the first draft of contribution on the agreed ToC released September 8 th – Comments on the first draft due September 9 th – DG Chairs to release the second draft based on comments received by DG members September 11 th – Members to comment on the second draft September 12 th – DG to release a third draft based on comments received by DG members September 14 th – Comments on the third draft due September 15 th – DG chairs to release a fourth draft based on comments received by DG members September 17 th – Comments on 4 th draft due Comments received on the 4 th draft will be dealt with in Hawaii (All Deadlines are 9PM PST ) The DG will also schedule conference calls for addressing comments from members before Hawaii meeting
