Speaking Practice, Writing Practice 1 de marzo

¡Mira! Remember what we’ve learned this unit:  Affirmative and negative words (alguién, nadie, siempre, nunca …)  Chores vocab (tener cuidado, limpiar el cuarto, lavar los platos …)  Regular tú commands (estudia, come, pasa …)  Irregular tú commands (haz, pon, ten, ven …)  Obligation with tener que (tengo que, tiene que, tienen que …)

Información Importante The speaking section of this test will work a little differently. You’ll receive a pre-written prompt that has a few blanks you’ll fill in with your own information. When it’s your turn to speak, you’ll read the script aloud to me and you’ll be graded on pronunciation, fluidity and effort. We’re going to practice this today for a classwork stamp.

Práctica Guiada Everyone will receive a half sheet of paper- this is the practice speaking script. We’ll talk about what goes in each of the blanks so you can fill it in like you will on the day of the speaking test. Then, while the class is completing a writing practice, I’ll call you up one at a time to practice your speaking with me. Remember that today is PRACTICE- it’s okay to make mistakes and ask questions! That’s how we learn.

Vamos a escribir … You are a sports camp counselor and you’re in charge of making sure the campers (who are all in elementary school) complete their chores before they can play. Introduce yourself, and write about what commands you give the campers at different times of day. They can include things like making the bed, eating breakfast, washing dishes, vacuuming, being nice, being careful, practicing basketball, etc. You should include at least 12 sentences, so you’ll have to add additional information. Saying what time the chores happen is a good way to lengthen your writing or say what the kids “have to” (tener +que) do. Helpful words: Camp → el campamento Counselor → consejer@ Todos los días, yo digo…—Everyday, I say… FOR +10 EXTRA CREDIT PASSPORT POINTS, WRITE FIVE QUESTIONS IN SPANISH THAT SOMEONE COULD ANSWER ABOUT YOUR WRITING IF THEY WERE READING IT ON A TEST. Example: ¿Qué tienes que hacer todos los días?
