5 National Data Centres Infrastructure Primary DC spans across three floor in new NITA- MOC Building near KACE-AITI Over 500 Racks and up 2 Pentabyte storage capacity Sits on 10GBps Fiber ring around heart of Accra Secondary DC Located in Kumasi Connected to Primary via high speed Fibre Optics cables To operate Active – Active with Primary Data Center Disaster Recovery DC Located in Tamale Connected to Primary & Secondary via High speed Fibre Optics National IT Agency, Ghana Primarily to store all government data securely Planned lease of excess capacity to private sector for DC and DR services

6 .gh Registry Project NITA Overseeing Automation Project – Equipment procured – CoCCa Registry Software installed and being tested – Re-delegation to follow shortly – Technical Management to be outsourced to a consultant to operate ghNIC - Domain Name organization – Multi-stakeholder Local Internet Community – Develop Policy for Registry – Oversee operation of registry – Registry Board to lead

7 . gh Registry Project DNSSEC to be implemented during installation F-Root Server Copy to be deployed – To speed up access to Internet 3R Registry Model to be adopted – Call for EOI for Registrars (Open to all) – Registrar Accreditation Process – Registrar Association to be formed to Interface with registry

8 CERT-GH (National CERT) National Cyber Security Policy and Strategy already developed by Ministry with Multi-stakeholder support Security Incidence Handling and response – National CERT being Deployed – Ministry of Communications & ITU/IMPACT – Sectoral CERTs to be developed along side ARN, GOV (NITA), NSA, FIN, ISP, BUS – Team to be located in new National Datacenter building – Constituents of National CERT to manage incidences when they receive incidence reports

9 IPv6 Task Force Depletion of IPv4 ( Critical Numbers Resources) Need to adopt IPv6 number system – Migration Plan – Capacity Building – Equipment compliance enforcement Need to have National Task Force – All Stakeholders MOC & NITA to spear heard formation of Taskforce National IT Agency, Ghana

10 Internet eXchange Point Ghana IXP Managed by GISPA Synergies of Registry, Root Server, National CERT and other National Infrastructure offer good preposition for hosting GIXP National IT Agency, Ghana
