8. How can Earth support life? Presence of liquid water Liquid water in the hydrosphere stores heat! Atmosphere- air is made up of nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and water vapor.

9. Water Characteristics Water absorbs heat during warm periods and releases it during cold periods. Water on Earth helps maintain a steadier surface temperature than other planets!

10. Energy comes from the sun Form of waves Each type of wave has a different wavelength and are invisible. Visible spectrum can be seen by the human eye (light)

12. Ecology Ecology- interactions among nonliving and living parts of the Earth Word “ecology” comes from the Greek word “oikos”, meaning “home”. So, we can say that ecology is the study of the Earth, which is the home of living organisms.
