2 Soviet Union- (USSR) Goal: spread world wide Communism. United States of America Goal: containment of Communism and the eventual collapse of the Communist world. The Cold War is defined as tensions between the United States of America and the Soviet Union from 1947-1990.

3 You and your group members will each be assigned one of the topics below to research. As a group you will: – Create a PowerPoint presentation – Create a note sheet for the class.

4 Each group will complete a PowerPoint presentation showing their research of their topic. The PowerPoint Presentation must include the following: – Minimum of 8 slides answering the questions of your topic – Minimum of 3 pictures from your internet research – (Extra Credit) If your group has a media clip Presentations will been done as a group in class

6 The Cold War put the world close to the brink of extinction on more than one occasion. People around the world knew that the end of the world as they knew it could come in the brink of the light. Hundreds of thousands had lost their lives trying to protect national interests even though the two sides did not directly fight. It is your job to report on the issues that made the Cold War one of the most tension filled periods of the 20 th century.
