1 Banff Band Retreat May 7-9, 2015

2 Legitimacy of the Retreat  Students participating on this trip will have the opportunity to experience music in a performance and clinic settings.  Developing relationships and experiencing some of Canada’s finest landscapes

3 What is included in the Retreat? *Transportation by luxury motor coach and 3 parent drivers *Accommodations at the Inns of Banff *Activities - bowling, hot springs, Banff Centre for the Fine Arts tour *Clinics *Performance 2 breakfasts (at hotel), 1 lunch (subway), 2 dinners (pizza, and The Keg)

4 Total owing for trip:  $350.00 less poinsettia fundraising  Totals available on your cashless account.  Due date: March 17

5 Legal Waiver Form *Your child will receive the legal waiver form if you were not at the meeting. *Please return the legal waiver form by March 17.

6 Student Expectations  All students are expected to follow the student expectations as listed in their student agenda.  No smoking, drugs, alcohol or energy drinks are permitted.  Students of opposite gender are not permitted to be in each other’s rooms without supervision.  Students are responsible for picking up after themselves on the bus and in their rooms.  After lights out Thursday and Friday night, no students are permitted to leave their room unless there is an emergency.  Students are not permitted to board the bus to depart for home on Saturday morning until their rooms have been inspected by a teacher.  Students who do not follow the above rules will face consequences. In extreme cases parents will be asked to pick-up their son/daughter up in Banff.

7 What Do We Need to Pack? When packing use common sense i.e., comfortable footwear, swimwear, shorts, pants etc.  Sheet Music  Instrument – Percussionists are responsible for ensuring that all percussion equipment is on the bus and that they have mallets and music.  Cards, Bus games, books, iPod, PSP, play station for hotel room, mini dvd player.  Umbrella, coat and gloves – we are outside a fair bit  Runners  Swim suit and towel  Food – We encourage students to bring water bottles, snacks, drinks, fruit etc. for their room  Cell phone. Cell phones are permitted as long as they are not used during clinics or performances.  Money for 2 meals, snacks, lockers and shopping  Performance attire: Tiger gear and tiger colors. Let’s show our school spirit. Pack everything into ONE SUITCASE and ONE CARRY-ON bag.

8 Health concerns IF YOUR CHILD IS TAKING MEDICATION I NEED TO KNOW THIS INFORMATION. THIS WILL BE ADDED TO THE CHAPERONE BOOKLETS. I ALSO NEED TO KNOW WHERE YOUR CHILD WILL BE STORING IT ON THE TRIP.
