1. Quebec Trip 2014 Devon Middle School

2. Trip Dates Departure: Thursday, May 29 th at 7:15am in front of school entrance. First stop in Edmundston (students may want to pack snacks). Return: Sunday, June 1 st between 9:00 and 10:00 pm in front of school entrance. Students can call when they get close to home. 5 Students = 2 buses

3. Meals and Spending Money Breakfast is provided every day. Lunch is not provided. Students will need to pay for a total of 4 lunches ($60? debit and cash encouraged). Dinner is provided every day (list of food allergies sent to company). Shopping: Thursday, Huron Village; Friday, Old Quebec; Saturday, Cabane a Sucre; Sunday, Shopping Mall.

5. Accommodations Cont’d… Depending on when we return to the hotel each night, students have one hour before “lights out.” Security is posted in the hotel hallways after 10:30pm. Although the Sheraton does have a pool, the students will not have time to access it. Absolutely no boys in girls’ rooms.

6. What to Bring… Packing List: See the handout provided for a full list. Must-Haves: Sunscreen is a must (for the baseball game); as is a warm jacket (for the night-time ghost tour in Old Quebec) and comfortable shoes (beware Quebec’s charming cobblestone walkways). Medications: Please ensure that puffers/medications have not expired and that epipens are present for each outing. Advil/Benadryl can be left with students.

7. What to Bring Cont’d… Please remind your son/daughter that this is only a four day trip. Students can bring one piece of luggage (stored under the bus) and one carry- on/bookbag with a pillow.

8. “Free Time” Guidelines Students are encouraged to bring a cell phone with them (for photos). Each student is counted before transitioning to a new activity. Students are expected to travel/shop with a buddy/buddies) at all times. There is one chaperone assigned per 11 students.

11. Itinerary - Notables Copy of itinerary – Tour of Old Quebec – Visit to an Amerindian Village – Shopping opportunities – Circus school workshop – Saint-Anne’s Basilica tour – Montmorency Falls – Maple Sugar Shack tour and dinner – Baseball game and meal (Quebec Capitales of the CanAm League)
