7.G.5 ~ Find measures of angles formed by intersecting lines
2
When two lines intersect, they form a 360º angle, or a circle.
3
Half of a circle is a straight line, or 180º.
4
When two lines intersect, they form two pairs of opposite angles, A + C and B + D. Another word for opposite angles are vertical angles. Vertical angles are always EQUAL!
5
Adjacent angles are angles that come out of the same vertex. Adjacent angles share a common ray and do not overlap.
6
Two angles are said to be complementary when the sum of the two angles is 90°.
7
Two angles are said to be supplementary when the sum of the two angles is 180°, or form a straight line.
8
Find the value of x. Then find the value of each angle. 56° 84°
9
Find the value of y. y = 9
10
Find the value of x. Then find the value of each angle. X=30 33° 57°
11
Find the value of x. Then find the value of each angle. X = 17 67° 113°
12
Find the missing angles: 40° 58° 90° 50°
13
Now, let’s do some practice with angles!
